Silent visitors...Otus returns...

For a number of years with careful searching Otus senegalensis more commonly known as Scops Owl could be found around the lodge grounds.
But for the past twelve months they have been conspicuous
by their absence. Maybe have something do with more Vervet  Monkey activity around the lodge grounds.
Mischievous monkeys are not liked by owls in general.
But this past week a scops owl was found roosting in the fever tree:
