A female laying her eggs in the sand, which will hatch into
the antlion larvae well known for the small funnel shaped pits
found in the dry sand often protected from the rain.
The larvae feed on unsuspecting insects that fall into the sand
trap, and are snatched before they are able to climb out the sand
funnel.
